TOWN OF MILLSTON BOARD MEETING MINUTES
10-11-2017
The Town of Millston Board members met on Wednesday, October 11th, 2017 at the Community Center. Meeting called to order by Dan at 6:31 pm. All Board Members present: Dan Smrekar, Chairman, Dawn Wojtyla, Clerk, Mary Ann Wojtyla, Treasurer, George Riedel, Supervisor 1, Mike Yahn, Supervisor 2.
Minutes from 9-12-17 were read, Motion to approve made by Mike, seconded by George. Motion carried.
ITEMS OF INTEREST FROM OUR NEIGHBORS (Q&A)
h It was discussed that question and answer session would be included in the meeting minutes.
h Snowplowing will be offered for residents at $80.00 per season and businesses will be billed at $50.00/Hr. Deadline to contact and pay the town treasurer MaryAnn is November 15th, 2017 V anything received after that date will incur a $25.00 late fee.
h Community Center V There was an incident in August where the handicap door was shot at while there were people in the building. The door glass has now been replaced however someone(s) tried to gain entry into the community center in October through the handicap door and door facing the park V both doors will need to be replaced. Entry was not gained. Security System is being explored and will be installed. The Jackson County Sheriffs Department will increase their patrol in the Town of Millston.
CLERKS REPORT
h Check/voucher number 15981 thru 16005 with 1 EFT for a total of $14,768.59.
h Current budget presented to board members for review. Proposed budget will be prepared for November 8th Budget Hearing/Levy Approval.
E Motion to accept the clerks report made by George, seconded by Mike. Motion carried.
OPERATOR/LIQUOR LICENSES
h None.
TREASURERS REPORT
E Mary Ann reported checking account balance as of 9-30-17 is $43,114.63. Ending Check 15983.
E Investment Account Balances from CDs $ 109,482.07.
E Motion to accept treasurers report made by George, seconded by Mike. Motion carried.
MUSEUM UPDATE/ ACTION ANTICIPATED
h The name will be the Millston Area Museum. Process has begun to obtain 501(c)(3) Non-Profit status. Motion made by George, seconded by Mike to adopt the Town of Millston Board Resolution Expression Support for the Millston Area Museum. Motion carried.
ROADS/DAVIDS REPORT
E Mowing done. David has replaced several stolen signs. Park has been winterized. Trucks are ready for winter.
DNR GRANT V ACTION ANTICIPATED
h Motion made by George, seconded by Mike to Adopt the Resolution of Commitment Hunter Haven Road Renovation to accept $125,000.00 in grant money for Hunter Haven Road renovations to begin 2018. Motion carried.
